Learning to sew was an important part of a girlies preparation for her future role as mother and homemaker. The National Sewing Machine Company of Belvidere, Illinois made this working model machine. It belonged to Rose Dunlop who was born in 1909 in Ontario. The family moved West in 1922 to farm near Hawarden, Saskatchewan.
