It took forty-five minutes and a couple of beers for Chris Haney and Scott Abbott to come up with Trivial Pursuit. Both are from Montreal; the former is a photographer, the latter a sport journalist. This game is third only to Monopoly and Scrabble in world sales.

Produced in 1979, Trivial Pursuit has been translated in 19 languages, and more than 70 million copies have been sold in over 32 countries.
